Project Overview

The Intrepid Garage will be located at the corner of 13th and Intrepid avenue in the Navy Yard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The garage will provide parking for multiple user groups, including residential, office, hotel, and general parking for local restaurants and retail. The parking facility consists of six parking tiers providing approximately 661 spaces within the 228,144 SF footprint.

 

Building in the historic Navy Yard presents various civil engineering obstacles. The team has taken specific care in the planning of underground utilities as well as foundation footings to ensure the safe delivery of the project. Further, The team has creatively managed the various challenges related to building a parking lot within close proximity to an occupied office, as well managing to provide parking to the tenants of the adjacent office building. Pushing the limits of a traditional parking structure, the Intrepid Garage will include an 11,882 SF commercial space, the first of its kind in the Navy Yard. Adding creativity and flare to what is typically a simple structure, the first floor retail space, creates another unique opportunity for communal gathering in the budding Navy Yard.
